Interlaken Ost is the principal railway gateway to the Bernese Oberland, sitting between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and serving as the отправление point for the famous mountain railway routes that ascend to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and the Jungfraujoch -- known as the 'Top of Europe'. From Interlaken Ost, take the BOB railway to either Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen, then transfer to the Wengernalpbahn or Jungfraubahn to reach Jungfraujoch — Top of Europe. The total journey takes around two hours and requires a Jungfrau Pass or purchase of individual tickets.

Interlaken Ost is served by InterCity and InterRegio trains from Bern and Lucerne, as well as the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) to the mountain region. The Golden Pass Panoramic поезд also originates here on its scenic route to Montreux via Zweisimmen.
