О Fiesch

Fiesch is a станция on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) narrow-gauge линия in the Upper Valais canton of Switzerland, situated in the Goms valley at an elevation of around 1,050 metres. It serves as the valley base станция for the Eggishorn gondola, which carries visitors up to one of the finest viewpoints overlooking the Great Aletsch Glacier — the longest glacier in the Alps and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. MGB trains connect Fiesch with Brig in around 35 minutes and with Andermatt to the east on the scenic Glacier Экспресс route.

Fiesch is on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn line between Brig and Andermatt. From Brig, the journey takes about 30 minutes. The station is also served by Glacier Express trains passing through the Goms valley.

Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn operates regional services through Fiesch. The Glacier Express between Zermatt and St. Moritz passes through, with some trains making a stop. The station is the departure point for the Aletsch Arena cable cars.

Luggage lockers are available at Fiesch station. The station is compact with a ticket counter. The cable car to the Aletsch Arena departs from directly adjacent to the railway station.

The Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is accessible by cable car from Fiesch to the Eggishorn viewpoint at 2,927 metres. The panoramic view over the 23-kilometre glacier is one of Switzerland's most spectacular sights.

The Aletsch Glacier is not visible from Fiesch village itself, but the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car, departing from next to the station, takes you to the Eggishorn summit in about 25 minutes. From there, the entire length of the Aletsch Glacier stretches below, flanked by 4,000-metre peaks.
