Brunnen is a scenic lakeside station in the canton of Schwyz, set on the southern shore of Lake Lucerne at the point where the Urnersee arm of the lake opens towards the Gotthard corridor. The station serves travellers heading to the small resort town of Brunnen and the nearby Rütli meadow — the symbolic birthplace of the Swiss Confederation — which is accessible by boat from the adjacent landing stage. S-Bahn and RegioExpress services connect Brunnen with Lucerne and Flüelen, making it a convenient starting point for Lake Lucerne cruises and hikes on the Weg der Schweiz national walking trail.
