Leuk is a small station in the canton of Valais, located in the Rhône valley between Sion and Visp on the main SBB line that connects Geneva with Brig and the Simplon route into Italy. It serves as the rail access point for the historic Leuk town and spa resort of Leukerbad higher up in the mountains, with postbus connections completing the journey uphill. Regional and some intercity services call here, making it a useful stop for travellers heading into the side valleys of the Valais.

Leuk is on the SBB mainline in the Rhône valley, with direct regional trains reaching Sion in around fifteen minutes westwards and Brig in around twenty minutes eastwards. Services run every thirty minutes on this busy Valais corridor.

Leuk is a small but functional SBB station with a ticket machine, waiting area, and bicycle parking. There is no staffed ticket office or luggage storage; for full facilities, Sierre or Sion are the nearest larger stations with comprehensive services.

SBB regional and InterRegio trains on the Geneva–Brig mainline serve Leuk, connecting it to Lausanne, Geneva, and the rest of the Swiss national network. PostBus services branch from Leuk up into the Leukerbad valley and surrounding mountain villages.

PostBus services run from Leuk station up to Leukerbad, the thermal spa resort, in around twenty-five minutes along a scenic mountain road. Buses depart several times per hour during the day; Swiss Travel Passes are valid on PostBus routes throughout the Valais.

Leuk is a historic Valais town with a well-preserved medieval centre, including the imposing Bishop's Tower and a cathedral with Romanesque origins. It is best known today as the gateway to Leukerbad, one of Europe's largest alpine thermal spa resorts, situated 800 metres above the valley floor.
