München Hauptbahnhof is the principal estação ferroviária of the Bavarian capital and uma das mais movimentadas in Germany, lying at the intersecção of longa distância ICE and EC corridors conectaming Munich with Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Zürich, Vienna, and Rome. The station was largely rebuilt after wartime destruction and features an extenso metrô S-Bahn tunnel circulamning beneath it — the centrepiece of the Munich S-Bahn network that carries an enormous volume of subúrbioan traffic por the metropolitan área.
