Amsterdam Centraal is the Netherlands' busiest railway станция and one of Europe's most recognisable, its twin-towered neo-Renaissance façade completed in 1889 rising directly from the city's historic waterfront. The станция serves as the national hub for Intercity, Sprinter, and international Thalys and Eurostar services, connecting Amsterdam with Brussels, Paris, and London, as well as the regional network reaching all corners of the Netherlands. Amsterdam Centraal is the starting point for most city transit, with trams departing from the square in front and метро lines running underneath. The historic canal district and Damrak are a five-minute walk from the main exit.

Intercity Direct trains from Centraal to Schiphol Airport take around 17 minutes and run every 10 to 15 minutes throughout the day. Sprinter services are slightly slower but cheaper and also run frequently.
