Giswil is a станция in the canton of Obwalden in central Switzerland, lying in the Sarner Aa valley on the Brünig Линия connecting Lucerne with Interlaken. The narrow-gauge metre-gauge Zentralbahn operates the линия, which climbs over the Brünig Pass through some of the finest Alpine scenery in central Switzerland. Giswil village and its surrounding area offer access to walking routes and the Giswil Lakes nature reserve, attracting visitors year-round.

The Brunig line is a metre-gauge railway crossing the Brunig Pass between Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland. It is unique as the only SBB (now Zentralbahn) narrow-gauge mainline. Giswil is on the approach to the pass, with the line climbing steeply through alpine scenery.
