Sachseln is a станция in the canton of Obwalden in central Switzerland, located on the western shore of Lake Sarnen in the Sarner Aa valley. It is served by Zentralbahn trains on the Luzern–Interlaken Экспресс route and regional services between Luzern and Meiringen or Interlaken Ost, offering scenic mountain views. The village of Sachseln is a Catholic pilgrimage site, home to the shrine of Saint Nicholas of Flüe, patron saint of Switzerland.

Nicholas of Flue (1417-1487), known as Bruder Klaus, is Switzerland's patron saint. A farmer and mystic who lived as a hermit in the Ranft gorge near Sachseln, he is credited with preventing civil war among the Swiss cantons in 1481. His hermitage and tomb remain important pilgrimage destinations.
