MajorCzech Republic
Brno hl.n. (Brno hlavní nádraží) is the main railway station of Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic and the capital of South Moravia. It serves Czech Railways intercity trains to Prague, Ostrava, and international EuroCity services toward Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest. A major rebuilding project has been debated for decades, with proposals to relocate the station southward; in the meantime, the current site remains the city's primary rail gateway and is close to the historic Špilberk Castle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Brno hlavní nádraží is positioned on the southern edge of the city centre, and the pedestrianised Masarykova street leading to Náměstí Svobody (Freedom Square) is just a five-minute walk. Trams stop directly outside the station for connections to other parts of the city.
České dráhy (CD) runs frequent EC and IC trains between Brno and Prague, covering the 250-kilometre route in around two and a half hours. International services connect Brno to Vienna and Bratislava, and regional trains serve Olomouc, Zlín, and other Moravian towns.
The station has a ticket hall, left-luggage facilities, and a variety of cafes and shops on the main concourse. Note that Brno's main station is undergoing a long-term relocation project, so some facilities and platforms may change over the coming years.
A staffed left-luggage office and self-service lockers are available at Brno hl.n. The lockers are a practical option for travellers spending a day exploring the city before catching an onward train to Prague or Vienna.
Brno's Ossuary beneath the Capuchin Church near the old town centre is the second largest in Central Europe and a striking, unusual attraction that few visitors expect. The city's café culture is vibrant and significantly cheaper than Prague, making it an excellent base for exploring Moravia.
