Porto's Metro Line A (Azul) and suburban trains from Campanhã reach Porto São Bento, in the heart of the city, in approximately eight minutes. Trams and buses also serve the station for local connections.

Alfa Pendular high-speed tilting trains to Lisbon Oriente and Braga call at Campanhã, making it the main intercity interchange for Porto. Some international services toward Vigo in Spain also use the station.

A left-luggage facility is available at Campanhã station. Given its role as a transit hub, the station has reasonable passenger facilities including waiting areas and a café.

Porto São Bento is a terminus and cannot accommodate through-running intercity trains, so all Alfa Pendular and Intercity services use Campanhã as their Porto stop. Passengers then transfer to the metro or suburban train for the short journey to São Bento.

Metro Line E (Violeta) connects Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport with Campanhã directly, with the journey taking approximately 20 minutes. This makes Campanhã a key interchange for air travellers heading into the city or onward by train.
