Flüelen ga stands at the southern end of Lake Uri in the canton of Uri, serving as the lakeside rail head where trains join or leave the approach to the Gotthard route — one of Switzerland's most historically and scenically significant hành lang đường sắt. The journey along the lake shore from here towards Erstfeld and Göschenen passes through some of the most dramatic Alpine scenery in central Switzerland, with the famous Gotthard spiral tunnels ascending the mountain wall above Erstfeld.
