Stein am Rhein is a ga in the canton of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, serving one of the most beautifully preserved medieval small towns in the country, renowned for its painted half-timbered façades along the Rhine. It is served by SBB trains on the Schaffhausen–Kreuzlingen Seelinie, with kết nối to Schaffhausen and onward to Zürich and Konstanz. Stein am Rhein is reached by Thurbo regional trains from Schaffhausen in about 20 minutes or from Kreuzlingen in about 40 minutes. The station is a short walk from the famous painted old town on the Rhine.

Thurbo regional trains on the Schaffhausen-Kreuzlingen line serve Stein am Rhein. Services run roughly hourly. Rhine river boats also connect the town to Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls, offering an alternative scenic route.

Boat services operate on the Rhine between Stein am Rhein, Schaffhausen, and the Rhine Falls during the summer season. The downstream journey to the Rhine Falls takes about 3 hours and passes through scenic countryside. Combining the boat and train creates an excellent circular excursion.
