Über Chaumont

Chaumont station serves the prefecture of the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region, a hilltop city on the plateau of Champagne known for its dramatic medieval architecture and its international poster festival. The station lies on the Paris-Est to Mulhouse and Basel railway, giving Chaumont access to Fernzüge on this important east–west corridor sowie regional TER services towards Langres, Troyes, and Dijon. The city's role as a former military headquarters and its striking viaduct — one of der größte in Frankreich — give Chaumont an outsized historischal presence relative to its modest population.
