Romont is a small hilltop town in the canton of Fribourg with a well-preserved medieval centre, and its station lies at the foot of the hill on der Haupt- SBB line verbindend Bern with Lausanne through the Fribourg Mittelland. The station wird bedient von intercity and Regionalzüge, offering convenient Verbindungen to both Bern and Lausanne in under eine Stunde, and is a stop used by travellers visiting Romont's stained glass museum — one of the finest of its kind in Europe. A Standseilbahn or steep road connects the lower station area with the historisch town centre perched on its distinctive rocky spur above the Glâne valley.
