München Hauptbahnhof is the principal estación de ferrococheril of the Bavarian capital and one of the autobúsiest in Germany, lying en la intersección de de larga distancia ICE and EC corredores connecting Munich with Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Zürich, Vienna, and Rome. The estación was en gran medida rebuilt after wartime destruction and features an extensive underground S-Bahn tunnel running beneath it — the centrepiece of the Munich S-Bahn red that cocheries an enormous volume of suburban traffic across the metropolitan area. Ongoing modernisation work as part of the Second S-Bahn Core ruta project will further expand the estación's capacity, while the adjacent U-Bahn estación provides seamless conexiones to all parts of the city.
