Villach Hauptbahnhof is the estación central of Villach, the second-largest city in the Austrian state of cocheinthia and one of the most strategically important ferrococheril nudos ferroviarios in the oriental Alps. It sits at the crossing of two major international corredores: the este–oeste Tauern ferrococheril linking Salzburg with Slovenia and the sur–norte Drau valle línea, with Railjet, Eurocity, and Nightjet servicios connecting Austria with Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and Germany. The estación is también a starting point for exploring the cocheinthian lake district, the Wörthersee, and the ski regions of Nassfeld and Bad Kleinkirchheim.
