Colmar station is about a 10-minute walk from the enchanting old town and Little Venice quarter. Walk east along Avenue de la Republique to reach the pedestrianised centre. The compact size of the city makes most attractions accessible on foot from the station.

TER Alsace regional trains connect Colmar to Strasbourg in about 30 minutes and to Mulhouse in 20 minutes. TGV services run to Paris Est in about 2 hours 40 minutes. Cross-border trains to Freiburg in Germany are also available via Mulhouse.

Colmar's Little Venice district with its half-timbered houses along canals is the main attraction. The Unterlinden Museum houses the famous Isenheim Altarpiece. Colmar is also the gateway to the Alsace Wine Route, with vineyard villages like Riquewihr and Eguisheim accessible by local bus.

Colmar is considered the capital of the Alsace Wine Route and is ideally positioned for exploring the region. Local buses and seasonal wine route shuttles connect to picturesque villages like Kaysersberg, Turckheim, and Ribeauville. The town itself has numerous wine bars and tasting rooms.
