Alpnachstad is a station on the shores of Lake Lucerne in the canton of Obwalden, Switzerland. The Golden Round Trip is a popular circular excursion combining a boat from Lucerne to Alpnachstad, the cogwheel railway up to Pilatus, a gondola and cable car down to Kriens, and a bus back to Lucerne. Alpnachstad is the starting point for the ascent portion of this iconic day trip.
