Romont is a small hilltop town in the canton of Fribourg with a well-preserved medieval centre, and its станция lies at the foot of the hill on the main SBB линия connecting Bern with Lausanne through the Fribourg Mittelland. Romont станция is at the foot of the hill on which the medieval town sits. A short uphill walk or a taxi ride of a few minutes brings you to the old town gate and the collegiate church at the top.

Romont is served by SBB regional trains on the Fribourg–Bulle and Fribourg–Lausanne lines. Trains run regularly throughout the day, with the journey to Fribourg taking around 20 minutes and to Lausanne around 40 minutes.
