🇵🇱 Warsaw
MajorPoland
Warszawa Centralna is Poland's flagship railway station, an underground Brutalist complex completed in 1975 at the heart of the capital's modern downtown, and the primary departure point for PKP Intercity trains to every major Polish city as well as international services to Berlin, Vienna, Prague, and beyond. Though its Soviet-era subterranean architecture is functional rather than beautiful, the station's central position — flanked by the Palace of Culture and the central business district — makes it the country's most strategically located terminus. A major renovation completed in recent years has modernised its passenger facilities while retaining its characteristic underground character.

Frequently Asked Questions
Warszawa Centralna is situated directly in the heart of Warsaw near the Palace of Culture and Science, putting passengers within walking distance of the main commercial strip on Aleje Jerozolimskie. The metro, trams, and buses all serve the surrounding streets.
Warsaw Central is one of Europe's deepest and most unusual stations, with its main platforms buried up to 15 metres underground beneath the city centre. The station was built in the 1970s in the communist era and is known for its labyrinthine underpasses and brutalist aesthetic.
Staffed left-luggage facilities and a large bank of self-service lockers are available inside the station. The underground location can be confusing for first-time visitors, so follow the Przechowalnia Bagażu signs in the main concourse.
PKP Intercity operates the Chopin Night Train to Vienna, EuroCity services to Prague and Berlin, and express trains to Budapest and Kyiv. Domestic EIP (Express Intercity Premium) trains also run from Centralna to Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, and Poznań.
The station's underground layout can be disorienting, so allow extra time for navigation, especially when making connections. Platforms are on the lowest level, with ticket offices and concourse one level up, and street-level exits above that.
