Morges station occupies the northern shore of Lake Geneva between Lausanne and Geneva, on the busiest stretch of the Swiss Federal Railways network west of the Alps, under UIC code 8501037. InterRegio and suburban trains call throughout the day, and the narrow-gauge Morges to Bière and Cossonay line leaves from the same site towards the vineyards and foothills of the Jura. The lakeside town is known for its thirteenth-century castle, built under Savoyard rule, and for the tulip festival held each spring in the Parc de l'Indépendance. Both lie within a short walk of the platforms. The station stands near 46.51 degrees north, 6.49 degrees east, and follows Europe/Zürich time.

Morges station is about a five-minute walk from the lakefront promenade and the historic château. The town centre, with its shops, restaurants, and Tuesday and Saturday market, is equally close and easy to explore on foot.

Morges is a smaller SBB station, and staffed luggage storage is not available. Self-service SBB lockers may be present; it is best to check the SBB website or app before your visit to confirm current availability.

SBB RegioExpress and InterRegio trains on the busy Lausanne–Geneva main line stop at Morges, with departures every 15 to 30 minutes in each direction. The journey to Lausanne takes around ten minutes and to Geneva around 30 minutes.

Morges is known for its impressive lakeside château (now a military museum), the Tulip Festival held in spring in the Parc de l'Indépendance, and the panoramic views of the Alps across Lake Geneva. The town is also the birthplace of conductor Igor Markevitch and has a lively cultural calendar.

CGN (Compagnie Générale de Navigation) boat services call at Morges port during the sailing season, providing connections to Ouchy-Lausanne, Nyon, and Geneva. The port is a short walk from the station, and Belle Époque paddle steamers are sometimes rostered on these routes.
