Über Leuk

Leuk is a small station in the canton of Valais, located in the Rhône valley between Sion and Visp on der Haupt- SBB line that connects Genf with Brig and the Simplon route into Italien. It serves as the rail access point for the historisch Leuk town and spa resort of Leukerbad higher up in the mountains, with postBusverbindungen completing the journey uphill. Regional and some Intercity-Dienste call here, was es a useful stop for travellers heading into the side valleys of the Valais.

Leuk is a historisch Valais town with a well-preserved medieval centre, including the imposing BiGeschäft's Tower and a cathedral with Romanesque origins. It is best known toTag as the gateway to Leukerbad, one of Europe's largest alpine thermal spa resorts, situated 800 metres above the valley floor.
