Erfurt Hbf is the main estación de ferrococheril of Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia and one of the best-preserved medieval cities in central Germany. It is a major nudo ferroviario on the Erfurt–Leipzig/Halle línea de alta velocidad and the Frankfurt–Berlin ICE axis, making it one of the fastest growing rail intercambiador points in Germany since the línea's opening in 2017. ICE servicios connect Erfurt to Berlin in around 1 hour 40 minutes, Munich in under 2 hours 30 minutes, and Frankfurt in aproximadamente 1 hour 45 minutes, while trenes regionales serve Weimar, Jena, and Gotha.
