Mâcon Ville is the town-centre station of Mâcon in the Saône-et-Loire department, a historic river town on the boundary of Burgundy and the Beaujolais wine country. It is served by TER regional trains on the Lyon–Dijon corridor and by some Intercités services, while the nearby Mâcon Loché TGV station on the LGV Sud-Est provides high-speed connections for which passengers need to take a shuttle or local bus. The town's waterfront promenades, wine-producing heritage, and proximity to the Cluny Abbey make it a rewarding stop for travellers exploring inland Burgundy.

TER regional trains from Mâcon Ville reach Lyon Part-Dieu in approximately one hour, with departures throughout the day. For a faster journey, take the shuttle to Mâcon TGV and use the TGV, which covers the route in around 25 minutes.

The station has a staffed SNCF ticket counter, automated machines, and a café. Bus connections to the town centre and the wider agglomeration depart from the station forecourt.

Mâcon Ville has automated luggage lockers on the main concourse. This is useful for visitors exploring the Saône riverside and old town before continuing south by train.
