Angers Saint-Laud is the main railway станция of Angers, the historic capital of the Maine-et-Loire department and the former seat of the Plantagenet dynasty in the Loire valley of western France. TGV services connect Angers with Paris Montparnasse in around 95 minutes, while TER regional trains serve Nantes, Le Mans, Saumur, and Cholet, making the станция a well-connected hub for the western Loire valley. The станция is a 15-minute walk from the medieval château of Angers and its renowned Apocalypse Tapestry, the largest surviving medieval tapestry in the world.

Angers Saint-Laud station is about a 10-minute walk south of the Chateau d'Angers. Walk north along Rue de la Gare and Boulevard du Roi Rene to reach the castle and old town. The city's tram line also connects the station to various parts of the city.

TGV services connect Angers to Paris Montparnasse in about 90 minutes. TER Pays de la Loire regional trains run to Nantes, Le Mans, Tours, and Saumur. The station is a key junction on the Paris-Nantes high-speed line.

Luggage lockers are available at Angers Saint-Laud station. The recently modernised station has a ticket hall, shops, and a cafe. The station building features a contemporary glass and steel extension.

The Chateau d'Angers houses the famous Apocalypse Tapestry, the largest surviving medieval tapestry in the world. The old town has fine half-timbered houses, the Cathedral of Saint-Maurice, and the Maison d'Adam. The Terra Botanica botanical theme park is accessible by tram.

Angers is at the western end of the Loire Valley and makes a good base for visiting the western chateaux. Saumur is 30 minutes by train, and the troglodyte villages and wine caves of the Loire are nearby. The city also produces Cointreau liqueur, with distillery visits available.
