Freiburg (Breisgau) Hauptbahnhof is the central станция of the Black Forest gateway city of Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, one of Germany's sunniest and most liveable university cities. It lies on the Karlsruhe–Basel Rhine valley высокоскоростной линия, with ICE and IC trains connecting Freiburg with Basel in 25 minutes, Karlsruhe in 90 minutes, and Frankfurt in under two hours, as well as TGV services to Paris via Strasbourg. Freiburg Hauptbahnhof is linked to the Münsterplatz and the medieval centre by tram lines 1 and 3, with a journey time of around five minutes. The станция is also within comfortable walking distance of the Colombipark and the start of the historic quarter.

ICE trains connect Freiburg to Frankfurt in around 90 minutes and to Basel in 25 minutes, with onward connections to Zurich. TGV services via Mulhouse reach Paris in under three hours, and regional trains head into the Black Forest on the Höllentalbahn.
