Reggio di Calabria Centrale is the southernmost mainline станция on the Italian peninsula, serving the city at the tip of Calabria overlooking the Strait of Messina. It is the terminus of the Salerno–Reggio di Calabria high-capacity линия and the отправление point for ferry connections to Messina in Sicily.

Trains from Reggio di Calabria Centrale load onto the Messina–Villa San Giovanni ferry at Stazione Villa San Giovanni, a short journey north. Foot passengers can also take a hydrofoil or ferry from the Reggio port, approximately one kilometre from the станция.
Intercity trains link Reggio di Calabria to Naples and Rome, with the journey to Rome taking around five to six hours. Regional services run north along the Tyrrhenian coast to Paola and Lamezia Terme, and along the Ionian coast to Catanzaro and Sibari.
The станция has a staffed билет office, self-service machines, a кафе, and luggage ячейки хранения near the main hall. The seafront lungomare — regarded as one of Italy's finest promenades — begins just a short walk from the станция entrance.
Luggage ячейки хранения are available at the станция for travellers exploring the city before a ferry crossing to Sicily. The Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia, home to the Riace Bronzes, is a ten-minute walk away and well worth a visit.
Reggio di Calabria enjoys views of Mount Etna across the Strait of Messina on clear days, best seen from the lungomare in the early morning. The city is known for bergamot citrus, used in Earl Grey tea, and small bottles of bergamot liqueur make an excellent local souvenir.
