Meymac is a small halt in the Corrèze department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, situated on the plateau of the Millevaches in the Massif Central at an altitude of around 700 metres — one of the higher points on the Clermont-Ferrand to Ussel regional rail line. The surrounding Millevaches Regional Natural Park is one of France's largest and most pristine natural areas, popular with hikers, cyclists, and those seeking solitude in the upland bogs, forests, and river headwaters of the plateau.
