Nîmes Centre is the main city station of Nîmes in the Gard department, a city renowned for possessing some of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world, including the Maison Carrée temple, the Arena, and the Pont du Gard aqueduct nearby. The station is served by TGV services from Paris, regional TER trains on the Marseille–Montpellier corridor, and intercity services towards Lyon and Bordeaux. A new high-speed TGV station, Nîmes-Pont du Gard, has been built on the LGV Contournement Nîmes-Montpellier bypass line, while Nîmes Centre retains its role as the urban heart of the city's rail connections.

Nimes Centre station is just a few minutes' walk from the Roman Arena. Walk south along Avenue Feucheres and the amphitheatre is directly ahead. The compact city centre with all major Roman monuments is easily walkable from the station.
TGV services connect Nimes to Paris in about 2 hours 50 minutes. TER Occitanie regional trains run to Montpellier, Avignon, Ales, and Perpignan. Note that Nimes also has a separate TGV station, Nimes-Pont-du-Gard, used by some high-speed services.
Luggage lockers are available at Nimes Centre station. The station has a ticket office, a waiting room, and several cafes. Its central location makes it perfect for exploring the city's Roman heritage on foot.
The Arena of Nimes, one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres, is steps away. The Maison Carree, a perfectly preserved Roman temple, and the Jardins de la Fontaine with the Tour Magne are nearby. The Pont du Gard aqueduct is accessible by bus in about 30 minutes.
Nimes sits at the western edge of Provence and is an excellent rail base. Avignon is just 30 minutes by train, Arles is 25 minutes, and Montpellier is 30 minutes. The Pont du Gard, Uzes, and the Camargue region are all accessible by bus from the city.
