Koblenz Hauptbahnhof is about a 20-minute walk from the Deutsches Eck, the famous promontory where the Moselle meets the Rhine. City buses depart from the station forecourt and cover the route in under ten minutes, passing through the historic centre.

ICE trains connect Koblenz to Frankfurt in under an hour and to Cologne in around 40 minutes. Regionale Bahn services travel the scenic Middle Rhine Valley to Mainz and the Moselle line towards Trier, one of Germany's most celebrated railway journeys.

The station has a DB Reisezentrum, luggage lockers, a supermarket, and cafés on the main concourse. Taxis are available at the dedicated rank outside the main entrance, and Rhine cruise boat operators have offices near the city centre.

Coin-operated luggage lockers are available inside Koblenz Hbf and are practical for visitors joining a Rhine or Moselle river cruise. The lockers are located near the main hall and accept standard coin denominations.

The Middle Rhine Valley rail journey to Mainz passes a succession of medieval castles, terraced vineyards, and UNESCO-listed riverside villages — regarded as one of Europe's most beautiful train routes. The Moselle Valley line to Trier is equally scenic, winding through some of Germany's finest Riesling wine country.
