Flüelen station stands at the southern end of Lake Uri in the canton of Uri, serving as the lakeside rail head where trains join or leave the approach to the Gotthard route — one of Switzerland's most historically and scenically significant rail corridors. The journey along the lake shore from here towards Erstfeld and Göschenen passes through some of the most dramatic Alpine scenery in central Switzerland, with the famous Gotthard spiral tunnels ascending the mountain wall above Erstfeld. Passenger numbers are modest but the station serves an important role as the gateway to the Uri lakeland region and the Tell Chapel on the opposite shore.

Flüelen is located at the southern tip of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee) in the canton of Uri, and it marks the northern entry point of the historic Gotthard rail corridor. SBB trains on the Lucerne–Bellinzona route stop here, and the station also connects to the lake ferry service.
Yes — the SGV (Schifffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees) operates regular passenger ferries from Flüelen to Lucerne, taking around three and a half hours on the scenic route past the Rütli meadow and Tellsplatte. Services run from spring through autumn.
Flüelen is a small station with automated ticket machines and a basic waiting shelter. The village itself has a few cafés and a boat landing stage a short walk from the station, but services are limited compared to larger Swiss stations.
There are no dedicated luggage lockers at Flüelen station. Travellers needing storage should use the facilities at Altdorf, the main town in Uri just a few kilometres away and connected by bus.
Flüelen sits at the foot of the Uri Alps in Tell country, close to the legendary Tellsplatte where William Tell supposedly leapt from the boat of Gessler. The Tellskapelle and Rütli meadow are accessible by ferry, making the area a focal point of Swiss national history.
