Kerzers is a small but strategically important junction station in the canton of Fribourg, where the line from Bern towards Murten and Payerne meets the route connecting Murten with Lyss and Biel/Bienne. It serves as a transfer point for passengers crossing between the German-speaking and French-speaking parts of Switzerland via the lakes region, and is a stop on several regional S-Bahn routes in the Bern agglomeration. The surrounding area is known for its asparagus production and wetland nature reserves around the nearby Murten lake district.

Direct regional trains from Kerzers to Bern run frequently and take approximately 25 minutes. Services operate throughout the day and are integrated into the Swiss Rail timetable, so connections to intercity trains at Bern are well coordinated.
Kerzers is a small station with automated ticket machines and basic waiting facilities. There are no staffed counters, so it is advisable to purchase tickets in advance via the SBB app or at a larger station.
