Málaga-María Zambrano is the modern high-speed railway station serving Andalusia's second city, named after the distinguished Spanish philosopher born in Málaga. The city centre is about a 20-minute walk or a short ride on Malaga Metro line 1 or 2, both of which serve the station. Buses and taxis are also available outside the main entrance.

Yes, Renfe AVE high-speed services run directly from Málaga María Zambrano to Madrid Atocha in around two hours 30 minutes. Several departures are available throughout the day.

Luggage lockers and a staffed consigna are available at Málaga María Zambrano inside the station. The station is combined with a large shopping centre so many services including cafes and retail are conveniently on site.

Málaga Airport is served by the C1 Cercanías commuter train, which also stops at María Zambrano. The journey takes around 12 minutes, making it one of the simplest airport-to-city connections in Spain.

AVE services connect Málaga with Granada in around 45 minutes and with Seville in around two hours, both via Antequera Santa Ana. Regional Media Distancia trains provide cheaper alternatives on some routes.
