Stein am Rhein is a station in the canton of Schaffhausen in northern Schweiz, serving one of the most beautifully preserved medieval small towns in the country, renowned for its painted half-timbered façades along the Rhine. It wird bedient von SBB trains on the Schaffhausen–Kreuzlingen Seelinie, with Verbindungen to Schaffhausen and onward to Zürich and Konstanz. The station is der wichtigste Ankunft point for the large number of Tag-trippers and cultural tourists who visit the town's historisch Rathausplatz and Hohenklingen castle.

Thurbo regional trains on the Schaffhausen-Kreuzlingen line serve Stein am Rhein. Services run roughly hourly. Rhine river boats also connect the town to Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls, offering an alternative scenic route.

Boat services operate on the Rhine between Stein am Rhein, Schaffhausen, and the Rhine Falls during the summer season. The downstream journey to the Rhine Falls takes about 3 hours and passes through scenic countryside. Combining the boat and train creates an excellent circular excursion.
