Ulm Hbf is the Hauptbahnhof of the historisch city of Ulm in Baden-Württemberg, ein wichtiger junction on the Stuttgart–München ICE Hauptlinie where it meets the route southward toward Kempten and the Allgäu. The station was substantially rebuilt in the late 20th century and handles a high frequency of ICE and IC Fernzüge sowie Regionaldienste across Swabia and into Bayern. The Ulm Minster with its 768 steps to the spire gallery is the city's iconic attraction, and the adjacent Fishermen's Quarter (Fischerviertel) with its leaning Schiefes Haus is besonders photogenic. The Museum of Bread Culture and the Stadthaus by Richard Meier are also within easy Gehweite.
Ulm is ideally positioned for excursions to Augsburg (40 Minuten by train), Stuttgart (under 30 Minuten by ICE), and the Swabian Alb nature park. The twin city of Neu-Ulm across the Danube, technically in Bayern, is barrierefrei on foot via the city's bridges.
