Albi Ville is the main station of Albi, the episcopal city in the Tarn department of the Occitanie region, whose magnificent brick cathedral and episcopal city together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. TER services connect Albi with Toulouse in around one hour via the Tarn valley line and with Rodez to the north-east, making it the focal rail point for the Tarn department. The station is within easy walking distance of the old town, the Toulouse-Lautrec museum, and the UNESCO-listed cathedral quarter on the banks of the River Tarn.

Albi Ville station is about a 15-minute walk from the UNESCO-listed episcopal city and the Cathedral of Sainte-Cecile. Walk south along Avenue du Marechal Joffre towards the Tarn river and the old town.
TER Occitanie regional trains connect Albi to Toulouse in about one hour, with several departures daily. Trains also run to Rodez and Millau. There is no direct TGV service; connections to Paris are made via Toulouse.
Luggage storage at Albi Ville is limited. The station has a ticket office and basic waiting facilities. The UNESCO old town is a comfortable walk from the station.
The Cathedral of Sainte-Cecile is the largest brick-built cathedral in the world, with stunning 15th-century frescoes. The Berbie Palace adjacent houses the world's largest collection of works by Toulouse-Lautrec, who was born here. The medieval Pont Vieux over the Tarn completes the UNESCO ensemble.
Albi gave its name to the Albigensians, the Cathar heretics against whom Pope Innocent III launched the Albigensian Crusade in 1209. The massive fortress-like cathedral was built as a statement of Catholic authority after the Cathar suppression. The city's red brick architecture has earned it the nickname 'la ville rouge.'
