Landquart is the main interchange station between the SBB standard-gauge mainline and the Rhaetian Railway's metre-gauge network, positioned at the northern entrance to the Prättigau valley in the canton of Graubünden. Passengers arriving from Zurich or Chur change here for Rhaetian Railway services toward Klosters, Davos, and the Vereina Tunnel car-carrying service to the Engadine, making Landquart the gateway to the eastern Swiss Alps for a large portion of international ski visitors. The station's location near the confluence of the Landquart and Rhine rivers places it at the natural threshold between the Rhine plain and the dramatic Graubünden mountain landscape.

Landquart is the interchange station for the Rhaetian Railway's Prättigau line, with direct narrow-gauge trains to Klosters and Davos departing from the lower platform. The journey to Davos Platz takes approximately one hour and is itself a scenic mountain railway ride.
Landquart has self-service luggage lockers on the platform level, which are convenient for passengers transferring between the mainline and the Rhaetian Railway. Larger pieces of sports equipment can be registered as registered luggage on the RhB network.
SBB intercity and regional trains serve Landquart on the mainline between Chur and Zurich, while Rhaetian Railway trains branch off towards the Prättigau valley, Klosters, and Davos. The station is also served by direct IC trains from Zurich without changing at Chur.
Ski and snowboard carriage is permitted on Rhaetian Railway trains subject to space and a supplementary fee. The RhB offers a convenient registered ski-luggage service during winter months, allowing equipment to travel separately while you ride in comfort.
Landquart offers a small waiting area, ticket machines, and a kiosk on the main concourse. A nearby supermarket and bakery cater to travellers before boarding mountain trains, and covered bicycle parking is provided outside the station entrance.
