Bratislava hl.st. (Bratislava hlavná stanica) is the Hauptbahnhof of the Slovak capital, located just north of the historisch Stadtzentrum. It serves as der primäre hub for intercity EC and IC-Dienste to Wien, Prag, Budapest, Warschau, and Kraków, sowie domestic Slovak Railways trains throughout the country. The station is derzeit subject to a long-term redevelopment project and is complemented by Bratislava Petržalka, which handles some internationale Dienste arriving from Wien via the southern route.

Bratislava's main station (Bratislava hlavná stanica) is etwa two kilometres north of the Altstadt, and Straßenbahnlinie 1 runs direkt between the station and the historisches Zentrum in etwa zehn Minuten. Taxis and the Bolt or Uber apps are also widely available and inexpensive by Western European standards.

ZSSK and OBB operate fast services between Bratislava and Wien Hauptbahnhof in under eine Stunde, was es one of the shortest international Bahnkorridore in Europe. Direktzüge also run to Prag, Budapest, and Brno, with Verbindungen to the wider Central European Netz.
